A Bit about Thomas Rennicks

Thomas Rennicks was born in Ardbraccan Co Meath Ireland on 26 th April 1887. He was Baptised in Ardbraccan Church Of Ireland, his parents were Bernard Rennicks and Jane Reilly. Bernard worked as a Stone Cutter in Ardbraccan Quarry and Thomas was also worked as a stonecutter.

Thomas was also in the First World War along with his brother Richard Rennicks who died in 1915.

After the War Thomas Rennicks married Grace Stacey in Bermondsey London on 1 st February 1919. This couple had three children Richard Rennicks, Edith Rennicks and Grace Rennicks.

The Rennicks Cup

The cup was presented to Bohermeen athletic club in feb 1972 by Attie
Rennicks ,for the promotion an development of athletics in the area.
The cup has been presented to the winning team in the Rennicks cross country
race from 1972 till 2001 when we ran it on the road because of the foot and
mouth epidemic .
We still run the race on the roads and the 38th Rennicks cup 5 mile road
takes place on Sunday sept 12th 2010 and runs througb Ardbraccan
